Amanda Tapping Bio

Amanda Tapping, a British-Canadian actress/director , was born on August 28, 1965. Her most well-known role is her role as Samantha Carter in the Canadian-American TV series of military science fiction Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis as well as Stargate Universe. She also played Helen Magnus in the science fictional-fantasy TV series Sanctuary. Born in Rochford, Essex, England, Tapping moved with her family to Ontario, Canada, when she was three years old. She went to North Toronto Collegiate Institute, where she excelled in Environmental Science and Drama. After graduating in 1984, Tapping decided to concentrate her attention on Drama. She was a student at the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts, Windsor, Ontario. Tapping and Alan Kovacs live together in Vancouver, British Columbia. [13][14Tapping is married to Alan Kovacs. Tapping is the mother of a child who is with Kovacs. Tapping has shared her difficult experiences she has undergone through her eight miscarriages throughout her marriage, hoping that her story would assist other women who are miscarrying to feel less isolated. Tapping has two brothers living, Richard and Christopher; an additional brother named Steven who suffered from epilepsy, and sometimes uncontrollable seizures. Steven died in December of causes unreleased by the Tapping family
