Sofia Vergar

Sofia Vergara was a Colombian model who later moved to the United States to become a host on TV at Univision. In 2000, she began acting in films. She became a household-name star with her Emmy-nominated role as Gloria DelgadoPritchett on the hit sitcom Modern Family. Hot Pursuit, Happy Feet Two and Happy Feet Two were other projects she worked on.

Career and early life

Sofia Vergara, a Colombian girl, was born to a large Colombian family in Barranquilla on July 10, 1972. After completing her dental studies and studying English at a bilingual elementary schools, Vergara was able to learn English. Vergara, who was captured on a sandy beach by a photographer who found her, got her start in the screen by appearing in the Pepsi commercial. Vergara then worked as model for Mexican telenovelas, and later became a household name.

After relocating from Spain to the United States in mid-1990s Vergara became a Univision television star, hosting the travel show Fuera de Serie followed by the variety program A Que No Te Atreves. An appearance of a brief but memorable nature at the 1995 American Comedy Awards also caught the attention of English-speaking viewers.

Vergara made her debut in 2002's Big Trouble. Rene Russo also starred with her. In 2003, she was chasing Papi. Vergara is Thomas Fuentes' friend. She was a star in Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes To Jail(2009) movies before the close of the decade. Vergara made her Broadway debut in Chicago as Mama Morton.

"Modern Family"

Vergara was the first person to portray the character of Gloria DelgadoPritchett in Modern Family's sitcom Modern Family. __S.20__ Vergara earned four Emmy and Golden Globe nominations consecutively in the category of supporting actors. She also received the People's Choice Award in 2017 as favorite comedic actor, just prior to when Modern Family was shut down in May of 2020. Vergara is also voiced Carmen in Happy Feet Two, a sequel to the animated film from 2006. Vergara was part of the New Year ensemble cast. A variety of sequel projects were planned such as the action flick Machete Kills (2013) and the art-house films Fading Gigolo and Chef (2014) Both of which were directed and co-starred by Jon Favreau.

Hot Pursuit, a 2015 comedy that was created by Vergara and Reese Witherspoon, was Vergara's collaboration with Witherspoon. Vergara was also a part of Vergara in The Female Brain. Vergara was also a voice actor in The Emoji Movie, which was released in 2017. After that, she changed gears and appeared in the 2018 thriller Bent and the 2017 baseball drama Bottom of the 9th.

Fashion & Business

Vergara started the seeds of financial success well before she became the highest-paid television actress. She was co-founder of Latin World Entertainment in 1994.

The actress launched her own Kmart clothing line in the year 2011. Three years later, she launched a jewelry and perfume collection. Walmart was the partner she chose to launch a denim line in 2019.

Personal Life

In 2000, Vergara was diagnosed with thyroid cancer by an endocrinologist. Since then, she's undergone surgery, radiation therapy and is now taking medications every day to control her metabolism. Vergara established an organization in Colombia to aid families who are affected by cancer.

Vergara her childhood love, married Joe Gonzalez in 1993 and had a son Manolo (in 1992). Vergara and Joe Gonzalez separated in 1993. Vergara was married to Nick Loeb, an American and co-owner in a film production company in July 2012. Vergara and Loeb have ended their relationship in May of 2014.

Vergara and Loeb were involved in a legal battle in the year the year 2015. Loeb sued Vergara in 2015 for her control of the frozen embryos she and Loeb had created when they got married. Vergara said that he was planning to destroy the embryos. But, she denied this accusation. In a statement made to People magazine by her attorney, Vergara said that Vergara was content to store embryos for an indefinite period of time.

Vergara started dating Joe Manganiello, True Blood and Magic Mike hunks, shortly after her breakup. Vergara was married to Manganiello on December 14, 2014. In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live interview, she also declared that she was granted American citizenship.
