Roselyn Sanchez Bio

2 April 1973, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Dance and piano since early childhood, Sanchez appeared on television from her mid-teens, including hosting Que Vacilon, a top-rated show in Puerto Rico. She attended the University of Puerto Rico and was a business and marketing student with the intention of taking over her father’s marketing firm. In the meantime she was awarded prizes in beauty contests, and later quit her studies in order to relocate to New York, USA where she presented her one-woman show, Out Here On My Own, gradually building her reputation. She broke into American TV, and was offered the role (Pilar Domingo) in the 1996/7 season of the soap that has been running for decades, As The World Turns. She also appeared in of series like Fame L.A. (1997/8), Ryan Caulfield Year One (1999), Kojak (2006) and reprised performances in Without A Trace (2006) and Dragnet (2006). Also, she appeared in films such as Hold Up (1999), Rush Hour 2 (2001), Boat Trip (2002), Basic (2003), and Yellow (2006) in which she was also a co-producer. She spends most of her time acting but she also composed a stunning album of songs that was released by BMGy Records on 2003. She has attracted a lot of publicity for other reasons that are not related to acting, such as being photographed in glamorous poses for magazines.
