Milena Govich
Milena Govich, who is a director as well
as actor and musician has directed many episodes on TV including Chicago Med
(2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) as
well as other. Additionally, she was the Co-EP/Producing director of Dick
Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently a part of two pilots in
development. Milena was one of eight women who were selected by AFI's most
prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also participated in the Sony
Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Unspeakable was her TV series
and short film. Starring Jeff Kober and Laura Vandervoort, it won the Best
Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival as well as the Best
Pilot award at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary
(2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the country. It
won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at
Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena has acted in over 100 TV episodes acting as
an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006),
then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004)
(Denis Leary/FX). She was also featured in the Dick Wolf series Conviction
(2006) that led to her being the first and the only female detective on the
Emmy-winning television series Law & Order (1990). She has appeared or
reprised on a variety of other television shows including K-Ville (2007) (Fox);
The Defenders (2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as
on the show Finding Carter as Lori Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter
(2014). Milena is also a part of various films, including Sordid Things (2009);
A Novel Romance (2011) with Steve Guttenberg as the lead. Steve Guttenberg;
Pass the Light (2015) as well as #Lucky Number (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015),
which stars opposite Method Man; and the film series Closure (2018), Be the
Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). The native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena
was valedictorian at her high school. She then completed two majors in vocal
performance and pre-med with minors in violin and dance at the University of
Central Oklahoma, also graduating valedictorian. In the following years, she
capitalized on her classical ballet background to appear on Broadway in the
production of Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall of 'Cabaret' at Studio 54.
