Paula Faris
Paula Faris, an American journalist,
worked previously as a TV correspondent for ABC News. She is most famous for
her time as cohost of Good Morning America Weekend, between 2014 and 2018, as
well as hosting of The View, 2015-2018. Before this, she co-anchored World News
Now and America This Morning. After graduating, she worked in several
communications-related jobs including an operations position at Mills/James
Productions in Columbus, Ohio. She held a job in radio sales, because of the
limited opportunities for television. She was hired as a WKEF/WRGT production
assistant and then was promoted to reporter and anchor. From 2002 until 2005,
she was the sports anchor for weekends and the weekday sports anchor for the
WCPO-TV station in Cincinnati. Her contract was terminated , and she became a
reporter as well as an anchor for NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV, Chicago, from November
2005 until December 2011. In December 2011 it was announced that she has been
hired by ABC's news division, ABC News. She made her network debut on January
2, 2012 for ABC's World News Now, and America This Morning. She was a reporter
and fill-in for Good Morning America during this period. Later, she was
elevated to become a New-York-based correspondent for all ABC News programs. The
last show she appeared on was World News Now and America This Morning was on
January 22nd, 2013. Following the time that Bianna Golodryga left for Yahoo!,
her debut as co-anchor on Good Morning America Weekend was made August 9, 2014.
News. On August 25, 2015 ABC announced that she would be joining The View as a
co-host for season 19. The contract was renewed by ABC to run its 20th season
on the 3rd of August. Season 21 was also renewed with the co-hosting role. She
was a regular guest on episodes on Fridays in the 21st season and the 22nd
season.
