Jennifer Carpenter Bio

Jennifer Leann Carpenter (born December 7th, 1979) is an American actress from the United States. She is known for playing Debra Morgan in the Showtime series Dexter and for which she earned an Saturn Award in 2009, as well as for her role as Rebecca Harris in the CBS television show Limitless. She was chosen to play Erica Shepherd, a leading role in NBC's drama The Enemy Within. Carpenter's role in The Exorcism of Emily Rose attracted the most attention. Carpenter was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award, for "Best Frightened Performer" and a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. She was named Breakout Performer at the 2006 Scream Awards. In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They were married in California on New Year's Day 2008. Hall and Carpenter released a statement in December 2010 saying that they had been separated "for some time". But, they are still close acquaintances. Carpenter and Seth Avett announced their engagement on February 10, 2015. The news was announced in the summer of 2015 that Carpenter gave birth to a boy in May of 2015. Carpenter also admitted she was eight-and a half months pregnant when she began filming Limitless the pilot episode. Carpenter and Avett were wed in May of 2016.
