Rita Ora is a British singer-songwriter. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family moved to United Kingdom at age 1. Her home was West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she was able to graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at an early age.In 2004 she appeared in the British film Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision The Country That Needs You (BBC One) She was selected to represent the United Kingdom in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She eventually walked out of the contest after several episodes, feeling that the stage was not set. Ora's first music release was in 2007, when she was featured on the song of Craig David "Awkward" as well as in 2008 with "Where is Your Love" with Tinchy Stryder. She also appears in music videos. Ora began to sing in bars throughout London and then in 2009 A&R reported to Roc Nation about Ora, just a few days following Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's video from 2009 for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" from Drake. Ora caught the attention of Jay-Z and he quickly signed her up to Roc Nation, in which she was featured in a commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik owned a bar and she began her singing career from that pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a bar manager and she started her singing performances from the same bar. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are close friends.
