Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter
of Kjellfrid Andreassen and was a former midwife and nurse from Norway. Her
birth date was April 25 of 1969, in Katy. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is
a Swiss engineer. They were married in the year 1963. Renee is a sister to a
brother called Drew Zellweger, a marketing executive who was born on February
15, 1967. Renee was a member of the drama group at high school when she began
to become attracted to acting. She also took an acting class at the University
of Texas (Austin) in Austin, and then began looking at pursuing a career in
acting. After graduating, she wanted to go back to acting, but Hollywood is a
challenging town to break into, and so Renee determined to stay in Texas and
auditioned for roles around Houston and managed to get roles in films such as
Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey (another
Hollywood rising star) was her pal while she was on the set of Texas Chainsaw
Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee observed him on a project that
interested her. She auditioned , and was chosen for the role in Love and A.45
(1994). It earned her enough critical praise that she decided to relocate to
Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came in another part in The Whole Wide World (1996).
Cameron Crowe was busy casting his next film which was Jerry Maguire
(1996),starring Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses like Bridget Fonda
and Marisa Tomei when he saw Zellweger's performance on The Whole Wide World
(1996). He auditioned Zellweger to be sure the actress was in fact his Dorothy
Boyd. Renee was able to follow her massive success with a handful of small
independent films. After receiving more praise from critics and confidence, she
decided to return to the realm of large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep
was her co-star in One True Thing (1998). She also appeared in Me, Myself
& Irene (2000) in a role opposite Jim Carrey and shortly after, began
dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
