Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
started her career as a television and film producer, with projects like
"The New Card Sharks", (1978) as well as "Card Sharks,"
(1986). Post produced projects like Double Dare (1976), and appeared on various
television shows like E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000).
Her most notable TV role was that of "Christine Sullivan" in Night
Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992 , she was part of 156 episodes. Daughter of
Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and famous nuclear physical scientist Richard
Freeman Post (November 14, 1918 - April 7, 2015). Two daughters, Katie Ross
(born June 26, 1987) and Daisy Ross (born on March 30 the 30th of March, 1990)
were born in her second wedding to Michael A. Ross. Born in Palo Alto,
California and was raised in Walnut Creek. She was a cheerleader at Las Lomas
High School, Walnut Creek, California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree
at Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She was a trick roper on
The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). The body was cremated and the
remains were given to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was a long-time
Democrat. Markie Post died three months after her 71st Birthday on August 7
2021. She was 27 days from Charles Robinson, Night Court (1984) and the co-star
of which she passed away on July 11 the 11th of July, 2020. Even though the
shows were not connected, Night Court (1984) was a finale that saw Christine
Sullivan's character departing for Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) was the
first show to introduce Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in
Hearts Afire (1992), after which she relocated to a small community following
her work in Washington DC.
